Aim of this Course / Target Group
Work Smart. Operate Safe. Get the Job Done.
Gain the skills and confidence to operate essential small plant equipment used across construction, infrastructure, and maintenance worksites. This hands-on course covers the safe and effective use of three key tools:
- Blower Vac – for clearing and maintaining clean, debris-free work areas
- High Pressure Sprayer – for cleaning surfaces, removing grime, and prepping work zones
- Quick Cut Saw – for cutting through concrete, masonry, and steel with precision
Whether you're new to tools or looking to formalise your experience, this course will prepare you to use small plant and equipment correctly, safely, and efficiently on site.
No prior experience required.
Course Content
The course will address the following:
- Operator responsibilities
- Inspections before starting
- Starting the saw
- Operating the saw
- Free-hand cutting
- Reactive forces
- Dry and wet cutting
- Cutting slabs
- Cutting curves
- Cart mounted cutters
- Maintenance
Assessment Method
Knowledge based questionnaires and practical demonstration
Pre-requisites
Must have basic English literacy skills

CTF Pricing For Eligible Customers
$171.00 - This subsidised rate is available to eligible companies under our bulk billing arrangement with the Construction Training Fund (CTF).
Individuals may still be eligible for the subsidy; however, they must submit their claims directly to CTF, as we are unable to claim on their behalf. For more information about the individual claim process, please contact the CTF directly.
CTF provides funding support to assist with the training of eligible workers in the construction industry. We acknowledge the CTF’s contribution in helping reduce training costs for eligible participants.

What To Wear
All course participants are required to wear appropriate work attire including steel capped boots, safety helmet, hearing protection and safety glasses. Specific quick cut saw protective clothing will be available for use during the training.
Morning Tea & Lunch
Feel free to grab a tea, coffee or snack before the course starts and during the course breaks. Participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch as it is not provided. Vending machines are available at our West Swan site.
