Aim of this Course / Target Group
This course provides participants with the required knowledge and skill to equip them to safely supervise work in tilt-up construction. The course provides a blend of meaningful theoretical instruction with practical training based on simulated tilt-up construction situations and practical application on site of safe tilt-up construction procedures. This course is suitable for those who supervise tilt-up construction activities.
Course Content
This course is based on the requirements outlined in the Regulations, Code of Practice and Standards and includes:
- Worksafe notification requirements
- Code of Practice recommendations
- Documentation
- Safe Work Method Statements and JSAs
- Emergency planning and procedures
- Construction sequencing
- Crane operations
- Propping
- Inspection requirements
- Emergency response procedures
Assessment Method
Knowledge based questionnaires, classroom exercises and completion of workplace assignments.
Pre-requisites
Must have:
- Basic English literacy skills
- Construction Industry Whitecard
- CPCCCM1016(A) Identify requirements for safe precast and tilt-up work
To complete the post-course practical activities, candidates must be able to be demonstrate competence by supervising the erection of at least one 6-10 tonne panel on their own site AND have a log book signed off by Site Supervisor and Engineer within 6 months of course completion.
Academic Award & Recognition
Upon successful completion participants will be issued with the following Statement of Attainment relevant to their industry area which will be recognised nationally
