Aim of this Course / Target Group

Step into the high-impact world of demolition with confidence and control. Our Demolition course equips you with the requirements and basic knowledge to participate in class 1 or 2 demolition work on single-storey buildings and larger buildings, or other structures, in full compliance with the WHS Act / Regulations / Demolition Code of Practice / Australian Standard 2601.
Whether you're entering the industry or upskilling for more responsibility, this course teaches you the understanding and knowledge of how to:
- Plan and prepare for basic demolition tasks
- Identify and manage demolition hazards
- Follow structural demolition procedures safely
- Use demolition tools, equipment, and PPE effectively
- Work under supervision while contributing to safe site operations

Course Content
This course is based on the requirements outlined in the Australian Standards 2601 - 2001, Work Health & Safety Regulations and WorkSafe WA licencing requirements, to include:
- Legislative frameworks and their implementation
- Duty of Care - Supervision and support of team members
- Hazard identification, including hazardous substance considerations
- Preparing a Job Hazard Analysis / Safe Work Method Statements
- Risk assessment and risk control methods
- Preparing a demolition work plan, including planning for basic demolition activities
- Demolition methods, including site preparation and equipment use
- Removing building components
- Checking and correctly storing tools and equipment
Assessment Method
- Knowledge based questionnaires and practical demonstration (Demolition scenarios and activities – we can’t demonstrate Demo)
Pre-requisites
CPCCWHS2001 - Apply WHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry (Included in this course)
Course Requirements: Must have basic English literacy skills
We highly recommend all candidates to hold the following:
- CPCWHS1001 - Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (or equivalent)
Academic Award & Recognition
Upon successful completion participants will be issued with the following nationally recognised Statement of Attainment:
- CPCCCM2009 - Carry out basic demolition
- CPCCWHS2001 - Apply WHS requirements, policies & procedures in the construction industry

CTF Pricing For Eligible Customers
$302.00 - This subsidised rate is available to eligible companies under our bulk billing arrangement with the Construction Training Fund (CTF).
Individuals may still be eligible for the subsidy; however, they must submit their claims directly to CTF, as we are unable to claim on their behalf. For more information about the individual claim process, please contact the CTF directly.
CTF provides funding support to assist with the training of eligible workers in the construction industry. We acknowledge the CTF’s contribution in helping reduce training costs for eligible participants.

Please note: If you have previously completed the prerequisite unit CPCCWHS2001 – Apply WHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry, you are only required to attend the half-day session. Please book into our Demolition Only course instead.
What To Wear
All course participants are required to wear neat casual clothing and enclosed shoes.

Feel free to grab a tea, coffee or snack before the course starts and during the course breaks. Participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch as it is not provided. Vending machines are available at our West Swan site.
