Aim of this Course / Target Group

Show your skills, prove your competency, and stay job-ready.
This Verification of Competency (VOC) program confirms that workers have the current skills and knowledge required to safely perform high-risk work involving cranes, dogging, and rigging activities. The assessment ensures operators remain compliant with workplace, regulatory, and industry standards.

    This course is designed for:

    • Workers who require verification of competency in Crane operations, Dogging, Rigging Basic, or Rigging Intermediate.
    • Individuals needing to update or confirm their existing high-risk work licences for site access or compliance requirements.
    • Experienced operators and riggers who must demonstrate ongoing competency for workplace and regulatory obligations.

Course Content

The Verification of Competency (VOC) process is an assessment only (not training). It is designed to confirm participants’ current skills and knowledge in line with industry standards.

Depending on the unit(s) selected, the VOC may include:

  • Knowledge Assessment – short written or verbal questioning to confirm safe work practices and WHS obligations
  • Practical Assessment – observation of skills in performing dogging, rigging, or crane operations safely and effectively, using correct techniques and communication methods
  • Compliance Check – ensuring work is performed in accordance with legislation, codes of practice, and site standards

Assessment Method

  • Knowledge based questionnaires and practical demonstration
