Aim of this Course / Target Group
This dogging course provides participants with the required skills and knowledge to enable them to safely and efficiently sling loads in a variety of situations in compliance with Work Safe WA Standards and Regulations. The course is aligned to the nationally recognised unit CPCCLDG3001 Licence to perform dogging which specifies the outcomes required to undertake basic dogging work, both in sight and out of sight of the crane operator, for the purpose of shifting loads mechanically and includes selecting sling types and sizes and maintaining the stability of the load. This course is suitable for anyone requiring to sling or shift loads within the workplace.
Course Content
The program addresses the following:
- Regulations and Duty of Care
- Personal Safety
- Ropes
- Whipping and splicing
- Flat webbing and slings
- Flexible steel wire rope
- Fittings, sockets and clamps
- Chains
- Shackles and spreader beams
Assessment Method
Knowledge based questionnaires and practical demonstration
Pre-requisites
Must have basic English literacy skills and be over 18 years of age
Academic Award & Recognition
Upon successful completion participants will be issued with the following Statement of Attainment which will be recognised nationally:
- CPCCLDG3001 - Licence to perform dogging
What To Wear
All course participants are required to wear appropriate work attire. Steel capped safety boots are required for high risk courses
