Aim of this Course / Target Group
This Senior First Aid training program is designed to provide the first response skills and techniques required to successfully meet the nationally recognised Unit of Competence HLTAID003 Provide First Aid from the Health Training Package. The course is suitable for individuals within the workplace, or for personal needs.
This course is suitable for all employees
The program addresses the following:
- Personal Safety Procedures
- Priorities in an Emergency
- Life Support – the D.R.S.A.B.C.D. Approach
- Managing the Unconscious
- Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (C.P.R)
- Rescue Breathing
- Managing Major Response, Airway, Breathing and Circulation Problems
- Recovery Position.
- Remote Area First Aid
- Accident and Illness Prevention
Knowledge based questionnaires and practical demonstration
During the COVID-19 pandemic period, to minimise risk, the theory component of this course can be delivered via remote facilitation (web-based conference) however the practical component will need to be completed at one of our training centres
Must have basic English literacy skills
Academic Award & Recognition
Upon successful completion participants will be issued with a ‘First Aider’ wallet card and the following Statement of Attainment, which will be recognised nationally:
- HLTAID003 Provide first aid
What To Wear
All course participants are required to wear appropriate casual attire. Close in shoes are required but please DO NOT wear dirty work boots.
Morning Tea & Lunch
Feel free to grab a tea or coffee before the course starts and at any time during the course. All participants will be offered morning tea and for those attending full day courses lunch is provided (an assortment of sandwiches and hot finger foods).
Persons with special dietary requirements should cater for their personal needs.
