Aim of this Course / Target Group
Stay Safe at Height — Scissor Lift Training That Supports You.
Not all elevated work requires a boom — but all of it requires the right skills. Our Scissor Lift (EWP) Course provides nationally recognised training in the safe operation of elevating work platforms that do NOT require a high-risk work licence. This includes vertical lifts and scissor lifts commonly used across construction, warehousing, maintenance, and facility management.
Who should attend?
Anyone operating or working near scissor lifts or vertical-type EWPs in roles like construction, warehousing, facility maintenance, signage, and more.
Course Content
The course will address the following:
- Overview of relevant legislation, standards, and duty of care
- Identifying types and features of elevating work platforms (EWPs)
- Hazard identification and risk control strategies for working at height
- Pre-operational checks and equipment inspection procedures
- Safe operating techniques, including raising and lowering the platform
- Navigating and maneuvering the scissor lift in various environments
- Emergency procedures and safety protocols
- Shut-down, securing, and post-operation checks
- Communication and teamwork when working around EWPs
- Practical assessment and knowledge test

Knowledge based questionnaires and practical demonstration
Pre-requisites
Must have basic English literacy skills

Upon successful completion participants will be issued with the following Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment:

CTF Pricing For Eligible Customers
$69 - This subsidised rate is available to eligible companies under our bulk billing arrangement with the Construction Training Fund (CTF).
Individuals may still be eligible for the subsidy; however, they must submit their claims directly to CTF, as we are unable to claim on their behalf. For more information about the individual claim process, please contact the CTF directly.
CTF provides funding support to assist with the training of eligible workers in the construction industry. We acknowledge the CTF’s contribution in helping reduce training costs for eligible participants.

What To Wear
All course participants are required to wear long sleeve pants, a long sleeve shirt and steel cap boots.
Morning Tea & Lunch
Feel free to grab a tea, coffee or snack before the course starts and during the course breaks.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch as it is NOT provided.
