Please note: This is the nominal time anticipated to bring a new operator to the minimum national NOHSC7019 standard.
Aim of this Course / Target Group
This Front End Loader Operator certification
program provides information and guided practice that will equip experienced
operators with the skills necessary to demonstrate competence to the minimum
national certification standards (NOHSC7019) and to lay the
foundation skills of new operators so that they can, in a safe manner, continue
to improve their skills and proficiency whilst operating the machine.
This course is aligned to the nationally recognised unit RIIMPO304E Conduct wheel loader operations and RIIMPO321F Conduct civil construction wheel loader operations which specifies the outcomes required including planning and preparation for work, the conduct of operational checks, the safe and effective operation of the machine for a range of mandatory tasks, the fitting, use and removal of attachments and operator maintenance activities.
Course Content
The program addresses the following:
- Planning and preparing for operations
- Pre- and post operational checks
- Shut down procedures
- Basic operating techniques
- Use of attachments
- Operator maintenance
Front End Loader Operator RPL Assessment only service is also available for experienced operators for initial certificate issue and VoC’s
Assessment Method
Knowledge based questionnaires and practical demonstration
Pre-requisites
Must have basic English literacy skills
If required by the employer or by the site management, or if required to drive the machine on a gazetted road, the candidate may require a Heavy Rigid (HR) Motor Vehicle Drivers License.
Academic Award & Recognition
Upon successful completion participants will be issued with certification for either of the following depending on the level of experience:
- NOHSC7019 Certificate of Competence
- RIIMPO304E Conduct wheel loader operations
- RIIMPO321F Conduct civil construction wheel loader operations
What To Wear
All course participants are required to wear appropriate work attire.
Whilst closed in shoes are a minimum requirement for attendance on any
course, steel capped safety boots are required for forklift, dogging,
vehicle loading crane (hiab) and rigging courses.
