UWA UNDERGRADUATE ENGINEERS HOSTED
Australian Training Management in conjunction with the Ertech Construction Academy recently hosted 29 Undergraduate Engineers from the University of Western Australia to provide a Construction Industry Awareness Day. The undergraduates received demonstrations on how to work safely and effectively within the civil construction industry and were highlighted some of the realities of what they could expect as a graduate Engineer on a civil construction worksite. The Undergraduate Engineers were guided on the day by our year 12 VET in Schools students (who are completing a 2 year Certificate II in Civil Construction program), which saw the Undergraduate Engineers complete pre-start checks and earthmoving operations on multiple heavy plant machines.
The Undergraduate Engineers also undertook their Construction Safety Awareness Training course and all 29 successfully attained their Construction Industry Whitecard (CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry). Feedback received from both the Undergraduate Engineers and the University of Western Australia praised our VET in Schools students for their hard work, diligence and professionalism during the day. UWA praised both Australian Training Management and the Ertech Construction Academy for bridging the gap between the classroom and the civil construction industry for their Undergraduate Engineers; which further prepares the job-readiness of their Undergraduate Engineering students.
