There are 2 pathways available:
- Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
- Existing Worker Traineeships
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
The Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) pathway is best suited if you have been working in the industry for some time as you will find that you already have many of the skills required and hence do not have to be trained in everything again. Candidates will be able to be assessed and receive credits in recognition of existing competencies.

Existing Worker Traineeships
The other approach for experienced existing workers to gain a qualification is through the Traineeship pathway.
Experienced workers shouldn’t feel demeaned by being involved in a traineeship. It is simply a preferred approach for employers as it provides a number of incentives that help to cover the costs involved. In fact, the entire process has been cost neutral when our clients have enrolled 15 or more Existing Worker trainees working in the Perth metropolitan area, or 20 or more on the same regional project.
